At some point in the game industry, it became fashionable to create your own marketplaces and programs to launch games. Some managed to gain a foothold in the market, while others failed. One of the latest was the Bethesda.net long-player – the studio owner announced that it was closing down.

The Steam account migration procedure will begin in April 2022, and you will be able to play through Bethesda.net until May. To reassure the community, the developers shared the details of the move.

  • Steam will transfer data about the library of games and the balance of in-game wallets So not a single crown from The Elder Scrolls Online or an atom from Fallout 76 is lost when you migrate your account.
  • All games purchased through Bethesda.net will be available on a tethered Steam account.
  • Bethesda.net accounts will not disappear – they are still required to log in to the studio’s games. In addition, you can enter the account after closing the launcher through the Bethesda website.
  • The save will be transferred along with the account data. For some projects you will have to do this manually. For example, Wolfenstein: Youngblood does not support the automatic progress transfer feature.
  • Friends lists will be sent to Steam along with everything else.

As soon as Bethesda prepares for the move, players will receive detailed instructions on how to migrate account data correctly.
