CD Projekt RED finally released a patch for Cyberpunk 2077, along with which launched a non-xtgen version of the game and a lot of different improvements. The patch is large, so it is accompanied by a number of events of various kinds.

Increasing minimum requirements

In the list of changes CD Projekt RED buried one nuance that concerns owners of older PCs – now the Cyberpunk 2077 has higher system requirements.

  • Support for NVIDIA 700-series graphics cards has been discontinued because they no longer receive driver updates.
  • Windows 7 will no longer be supported starting June 15, 2022. According to the developers, this operating system is limited to DirectX 12, and graphics card manufacturers stop releasing drivers for Windows 7.

Accordingly, the system requirements were raised to Windows 10 and GeForce GTX 970. The game can still run on configurations below the new minimum, but tests on the GeForce 700-series are no longer available, and in patches after June 15, Cyberpunk 2077 may not turn on on Windows 7 at all.

New departures

After installing patch 1.5, some users began to report that the game does not start. CD Projekt RED is already investigating the following problems:

  • On PS4, the disc version stopped working.
  • On PC, the game crashes at startup due to programs related to sound. As a temporary solution, the developers suggest disabling the A-Volute, Nahimic or Sonic Studio drivers if you have them.

In the same post, the developers specified that they were studying a couple of fresh requests from the audience:

  • Transferring saves between PS4 and PS5.
  • FPS boost on Xbox Series S, where you can’t turn on performance mode with 60 fps right now.

Guarantees that both requests will be fulfilled, CD Projekt RED can not yet give.

The scores on Steam after Patch 1.5 are at 75%, almost the same as before. Update mostly praise, and in the negative reviews talk about crashes at launch – probably the same ones about which writes CD Projekt RED.
